State of U.P. &#038; Ors., WRIT \u2013 C No. \u2013 26540 of 2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Allahabad High Court\nwhile hearing a writ petition held that, Employee\u2019s Compensation Act\n(hereinafter referred as ECA, 1923) which is an Act concerning to the Social\nSecurity gave following pronouncement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Held\n: \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>ECA,\n1923 is a welfare legislation for the purposes of providing social security to employees.<\/li><li>The\nobject of the Act is to protect the workmen from the\nhardship arising from accidents occurring during the course of employment.<\/li><li>While construing the provisions of welfare legislation, courts\nshould adopt, what is described as a beneficent rule of construction.
