This event is from <strong>9:45 pm -10:45 pm [IST]<\/strong> via Zoom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\">Description<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Beneath the waves, marine ecosystems are suffering.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2019\/09\/25\/climate\/climate-change-oceans-united-nations.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Climate change<\/a>&nbsp;is making the world\u2019s oceans hotter, more acidic, and less oxygen-rich at a time when fish already face warlike industrial overfishing around the globe. Human pressures are causing fisheries to disappear, driving marine animals towards the poles, shrinking the size of fish bodies, fueling cyclones and floods, and shifting currents. With three billion people relying on fish as a primary source of protein, this looming ecological collapse poses a profound risk to humanity. In short, we are in hot water\u2014but making radical changes now could have an enormous, healing impact. This online panel will address the questions: How are industrial fishing policy and climate change impacting the world\u2019s marine ecosystems?
