In the recent case of Suddhasatva Banerjee v. Santanu Mitra, the petitioner had filed a case stated that a memo was given to the petitioner wherein the blind petitioner was removed from the position of Head of the Bengali department by the Haringhata Mahavidhyalaya on the ground of physical disability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to section 20 of the Act, government shall not discriminate against any person with disability in any matter relating to employment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Court taking this provision into consideration set aside the impugned memo and directed the Respondent-authorities to take appropriate steps as the memo was discriminatory and in violation of the Rights of PWD Act, 2016<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
