 About the Editors

• Mr Tyson Nicholas (LLB – Queensland University of Technology; Master of International Business – University of Canberra; BA History – University of New South Wales ) is currently seconded by the Australian Government to the United Nations (UN) Department of Peace Operations, UN Headquarters New York, as Military Expert on Investigations of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA).

Tyson’s expertise is in public international law, in particular in the areas of international human rights law, international humanitarian law (IHL), the use of force, the Responsibility to Protect (R2P), sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV), the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) framework, UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and human security drivers of conflict and crisis.

As a leading military expert in human rights, SGBV, and WPS, he has worked with various UN agencies and NGOs on issues of violence against women, conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV) and SEA.

Tyson is also an adjunct lecturer at the Faculty of Law, Lund University (Sweden) and a member of the World Health Innovation Summit Panel of Experts for UN SDG 5 – Gender Equality. He has previously worked as a Researcher at the Centre for Defence Leadership and Ethics, Australian Defence College.

The tipping point that led Tyson to transition to a career in human rights and humanitarian law was the cumulative impact of bearing witness to extreme suffering, attacks on human dignity, and the systematic and destructive use of SGBV in conflict and crisis during his military career – and the desire to break the cycle and make a difference!

In his military career Tyson served in command and leadership positions in Australian Clearance Diving Teams, the Australian Amphibious Task Group, several of Her Majesties Australian Ships and the Royal Australian Navy Fleet Headquarters. His field experience includes operations for the defeat of Da’esh in the Middle East, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief in the South Pacific, peacekeeping with the UN Mission in South Sudan, combat operations in Afghanistan, counter human trafficking operations in Asia and international engagement and support operations in the Middle East and Asia.

Tyson has experience in successfully leading and managing diverse teams in terms of their professional expertise, gender, racial, cultural and religious backgrounds. He has worked in Afghanistan, Australia, Austria, Canada, Denmark, Fiji, Germany, Iraq, Kenya, Kuwait, Malaysia, the Netherlands, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, South Sudan, Sweden, Thailand, Uganda, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom and the United States of America.

• Prof. (Dr.) Azimkhan B. Pathan (PhD, LLM, LL. B, BBA); is Associate Dean & Professor

of Law & Chair, Research and Ph.D. at Galgotias University. He has very keen interest in International Law, Jurisprudence, Constitutional Law and Environmental Law. In his lifetime he has worked with many International and Government Project.

In his bag he has more than 40 national and international research papers

Also, he is having a very diverse academic achievements in his name, which consist more 10 Gold medals namingly like Ex-Prime Minister Late Shri P.V. Narsimha Rao Memorial Gold Medal., Barrister T.S. Patil Gold Medal and etc. He has also received “Maulana Abul Kalam Azaad Merit Award.” In the year 2018he has been selected and nominated for “Best Academician of the year Award (Male)” in “Global Education and Corporate Leadership Awards (GECL-2018)”.

He was also honored by Chhattisgarh Environment Conservation Board, Government of Chhattisgarh (India) for providing extension service in the field of Environmental Law on 2nd December 2014, on National Pollution Control Day. Also in the year 2013 he was honored by Rajeev Gandhi Ground Water Research and Training Institute (wing of Central Ground Water Board, Government of India), for providing valuable extension service in training programmes.

He has been also honored by hand of by the hands of Prof. Vasant Purke, Education Minister, Maharashtra; Justice K. J. Rohi, Judge, Bombay High Court, Nagpur Bench,’ and by the hands of Shri. Sudhir Kale, District Judge, District Session Court, Amravati, many time.

He was also special guest and resource person for many conference and seminar which was organized by many famous organization namingly like Indian Audit & Accounts Dept., Rajiv Gandhi Research and Training Institute, Chhattisgarh Environment Conservation Board, IIM Kashipur, UGC-Human Resource Development Centre and etc. Other than that, he is also member of more 21 academic committee and boards

• Mr Avinash Singh, (LLM – Business and Commercial Law; BBA. LL. B (h)) Presently  working as Assistant Professor at Symbiosis Law School, Hyderabad that is constituent of Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Pune. He has Completed LLM in Business and Commercial Law and is holding a degree of BBA.LL. B (Hons) at graduation level. He has been engaged with research position in IIM Lucknow before joining as Assistant Professor and extensively worked on projects funded by World Bank, Port Trust Authority in India. He has been associated with several journals as editor/advisor and published edited volume book on legal issues with International Publishers. He also holds a pro – bono advisory position at non – profit organizations like institute of Policy Research and Studies (IPRS), Samvit Foundation along with others.

• Mr. Subhrajit Chanda (LLM- Sports Law, Nottingham Trent University, UK; LLM – Energy Law; BBA. LLB (H) International Trade Law) is an Asst Lecturer at OP Jindal Global University, and visiting faculty at Symbiosis Law School Hyderabad, where he was in charge for Center of Sports Law and Policy.

He has completed also completed many diploma and certificate courses from UN, FIFA, International Olympic Association, and also from Open University, UK collaborated with English Football League. He was also intern with IIFT and WTO Studies, later part he has also researched with them.

Also, back in UK he has worked as sports mentor volunteer at Nottingham Trent University Partner with Laureus Foundation and UK Media and Sports Government..

Other than that he is also Founder and Managing Editor of a sports e-journal known as Global Sports Policy Review(https://www.g-spr.com/)which is consistent, different lawyers, Olympians and professional and sports enthusiast from different part of the world as the reputed honorary board of advisors and editors.

About the subject matter of publication:

International Humanitarian Law which is also known as the law of armed conflict, is the law that mainly regulates the conduct of the war or in latin can be say jus in Bello. International humanitarian law is that branch of international law that proceed themselves as a shield or safeguard of armed conflict by protecting persons who are not participating in hostilities, and by restricting and regulating the means and methods of warfare available to combatants.

The fundamental moto of international humanitarian law is roused by contemplations of humanity and the alleviation of human torment, so it includes a bunch of rules, set up by treaty or custom, that tries to ensure people and property/protests that are, or might be, affected by outfitted armed conflict and restricts the privileges of parties to contention to utilize techniques and methods for fighting of their choice.

Sources of international law consistently include international agreements customary international law, general principles of nations, and case law. It characterizes the direct and duties of belligerent nations, neutral nations, and individuals engaged in warfare, in relation to each other and to protected persons, normally meaning non-soldiers. It is intended to adjust and balance humanitarian concerns and military necessity, and subjects warfare to the standard of the rule by restricting its dangerous impact and alleviating human misery.

International humanitarian law also operates on a strict division between rules applicable for international armed conflict and internal armed conflict, but this dichotomy is widely criticized. Also, the relationship between international human rights law and international humanitarian law is also play disputed among international law scholars; and further this forms part of a larger discussion on fragmentation of international law. While pluralist scholars conceive international human rights law as being distinct from international humanitarian law, proponents of the constitutionalist approach regard the latter as a subset of the former.

But in this modern era of 21^st century we have seen many war, whether it is civil war, community war, or terror war; and this type of incident has always lead to certain serious violations. Also, some Genuine violations of international humanitarian law are called war crimes. International humanitarian law or jus in bello, directs the lead of powers when occupied with war or armed conflict. It is distinct from jus ad bellum which directs the lead of engaging in war or armed conflict and includes violations against harmony and peace of war and aggression. Together the jus in bello and jus ad Bellum involve the two strands of the laws of war governing all aspects of worldwide international armed conflicts. So, this book will boasts a new viewpoint, perspective, and a comprehensive policy bases mechanism that is the need of great importance of the hour.

This is a call to all academicians, lawyers and research scholars to make their contributions in the form of book chapter on the given them

Submission Guidelines

• Contributions should be between 8,000 – 15,000 words. The word limit mentioned is inclusive of footnotes and abstract and. Kindly note that the word limit will be strictly enforced.
• All the submissions must consist of an Abstract of not more than 1000 words, and keywords; Also, the main contribution and a declaration of originality is a must.
• A submission can be co-authored by a maximum of two to three people.

Format and Citation Guidelines

• Font Type and Size of the main text must be Times New Roman, 12.

• Font Type and Size of footnotes must be Times New Roman, 10.
• Line Spacing of the main text and footnotes must be 1.5, Single respectively.
• Use of headings and Sub-Headings is encouraged. Headings and Sub-Headings should be numbered, should be of the same font type and size as the main text, and should be in bold.
• Citations must be in OSCOLA format.
