About the Organiser

The concept of ‘Symbiosis’ is nurtured by Dr. S. B. Mujumdar (Chancellor Symbiosis International Deemed University) on the principles of Vedic thought ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ which means ‘World as One Family’.Symbiosis Law School (SLS) Hyderabad is established in 2014 inheriting splendid novelty, dynamism and excellence in the education of Symbiosis International Deemed University, Pune.

About the Seminar

The prevention of crime is a multi-dimensional approach to reduce the occurrence of crime, deter criminal behaviours through enforcement of law. All the countries regardless of their development status focus on different methods to prevent and control crime.The goal of this seminar is to raise awareness about the existing crime control strategies highlighted in the national and international framework, share experiences, and best practices and provide a means to create and implement new strategies.

Eligibility

A Full time under-graduate, post-graduate, PhD. Research Scholars from colleges/institutes/universities belonging to the broad disciplines of Law & Social  Science and Professionals working in the field are eligible to apply.
Theme

Crime prevention has become an increasingly important component in many national and international strategies to ensure public safety and security. It mostly comprises of the strategies and measures that seek to reduce factors contributing to crime and its harmful impact on individuals and societies.The existing lacunae in international and domestic legislation to prevent and control crimes should be addressed. The effects of crimes are grave in nature and have an impact on mankind as a whole. However, many governments across the world has failed to include various crimes in their domestic legislation, making it hard to prosecute the persons responsible for it and serving criminal justice. Thus, failing to prevent these crimes both on national and international level.This seminar thus intends to delve on different approaches to prevent crime and understanding the role of different stakeholders in preventing and controlling the crime.

Submission Details

The submission for the seminar shall be two-fold in nature: Firstly, an abstract shall be sent which shall be subjected to initial scrutiny. Lastly, if the abstract is selected, a research paper shall be sent following upon the same.

Fee Details

Once the Abstract is selected, participants will be sent a registration link via e-mail. The registration amount for Seminar is:Single-

Author: Rs. 1,500 (inclusive of GST)

Co-Authorship: Rs. 2,000 (inclusive of GST)

The amount paid shall include: Transportation (from city to college);  Breakfast, Lunch, High Tea & Dinner’

Accommodation shall be provided to outstation participants with separate charges subject to availability. Payment details will be shared after the selection of the abstract.
