ABOUT THE WEBINAR

The Literary and Debate Society of Symbiosis Law School, Hyderabad is organizing a National webinar on Pandemic and its Effects on Productivity, Creativity and Mental Health.

This webinar will seek to accommodate both internal and external participants to make this platform available to students all across the country, through an integrated discussion on the importance of taking care of their mental health especially during these trying times and also otherwise during the course of their academic and work life. This webinar would also ensure that students get the opportunity to put forth their questions and seek ways to help them get through these times of lockdowns while managing both careers and their own well-being side by side.

Our esteemed panel consists of the following speakers who are very efficient and well versed with their field of expertise:

  1. Ms. Juhi Sharma: She is the founder of Light Up EMF (Emotions Matter Foundation) and Unbottle Emotions. Light Up is one of the first few social ventures that focuses on harnessing the emotional intelligence (EI) of children, parents and, teachers by developing their social and emotional competencies, and providing them with tools necessary to form a cohesive, collaborative, non-violent, and caring community. They are also imparting social and emotional skills that will contribute to a better adjusted child-parent-teacher microcosm and facilitates higher academic achievements. Unbottle Emotions hosts workshops that are experiential in nature and all about addressing one’s emotional health. Unbottle Emotions focuses on advocacy and awareness of practicing Emotional Intelligence in one’s daily lives that enables one to experience emotional freedom.
  2. Ms. Anindita Anand: She is a child psychologist and a personal growth coach, an NLP practitioner and also a mental health facilitator.
  3. Mr. Amandeep Sandhu: He is a Punjabi writer who writes in English. His second novel Roll of Honourwas nominated for Hindu Literary Prize for Best Fiction in 2013. He did a Masters in English Literature from the University of Hyderabad. He then did a Diploma in Journalism from Asian School of Journalism. In 2013, he joined Akademie Schloss Solitude, Stuttgart, Germany. Sepia Leaves is a semi-autobiographical novel which talks expressly about mental illnesses and how they have a deep impact on every person with a special mention to schizophrenia.
  4. Prof. Amita Dhanda: She is an Indian author, academician and activist. She is a Professor of Law, at NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad. She was appointed as a member of the strong 14- Member National Advisory Council for the implementation of the RTE Act in 2010. She has contributed to the research of Mental Health and disability studies in India and is the head of the Centre for Disability Studies in NALSAR. She has authored three books and is also a guest writer for Kafila, along with few other online news magazines and National dailies. Her book ‘Legal Order and Mental Disorder’ critically appraises the current laws as enshrined in the Indian Penal Code relating to the mentally ill and the impact they have on people with mental illness.
